However, if you're a Virgin Mobile customer but you don't have broadband or TV with us, then we're afraid that you aren't eligible at this time.
1) Is your friend able to receive Virgin Media in their area? If you're uncertain, visit our products page and check which services they can get (you need their postcode and address).
2) Has your friend been a Virgin Media Cable customer any time in the last six months?
If your friend is in a Virgin Media area and hasn't been a Virgin Media Cable customer at any point in the last six months, then your friend is eligible.
As there's often a gap between the date that your friend places their order and the date that their new service is installed, you may have to wait a little while before you see your £50 credit.
In fact it might be worth catching up with your friend after you refer them to us, because if they don't place their order with us straight away, you may be waiting a while.
To clarify, you won't receive your £50 credit immediately after filling in this page – you'll get it after your friend's installation. Your £50 credit will be visible on your next bill 28 days after your friend's installation date, and once their 14 day Customer Satisfaction Guarantee has passed.
However, if your friend joins Virgin Media in any way other than through the sign up email we send them, or when we give them a call, then you won't receive any credit, and neither will your friend.
So that means they can't sign up in store or through the website (not without following the link in the email).
When they sign up through the email they should see a Refer a friend message appear in the checkout. Make sure they check that this appears, especially if it's been a while since we sent the email. If it isn't there they won't get their £50 credit (and you won't get yours either!).
If this happens, simply ask them to retry by following the link in the invitational email. If the problem persists, go through the Refer a Friend process once more and we'll send them a fresh email.

Refer a Friend: To receive the Refer a Friend credit, you must be an existing Virgin Media Cable customer (offer not available to Virgin Mobile or National Customers)
and your friend must not have been an existing customer for at least 6 months. Please ensure you have your friend's permission to share their details with Virgin Media. We will
only contact your friend in connection with this offer. Your friend may be informed that you provided their details.
Referral channels: A referral via My Virgin Media will need to follow the link in the email in order to be eligible for Refer a friend credit on their online sale. If your friend's telephone contact details are given via My Virgin Media or via our online Refer a friend site your friend will only qualify for the Refer a friend offer if they sign up when contacted by our Refer a friend team. If your friend signs up via any of our other sales channels (in our stores, via our Online sales site without following email link, etc.) you and your friend will NOT be eligible for the offer. Credits are applied to both the referrer's account and their friend's account on installation. When your friend signs up to Virgin Media Cable services they will receive a £50 credit on their first bill.
